Winter Indoors

When your front door looks like this on the INSIDE
you know it's gotta be cold outside....

A Cold Spell

It is just freezing these days. A long lasting cold spell with unusually low temps. Walking to work can litterally be an experience, and layers of clothes a definite must. Actually, it is all bordering on exotic .... : D

More Marble Added?

Mother nature seems to have added some marble trimmings on the West Wall of the Cathedral.
She must have been at work during the night and at the same time brought on some pretty low temperatures for us.

Thursday, March 12

A crisp morning with dazzling sunshine.... Always trying to keep my eyes preferably above eye level, while making haste... Today two good friends gave me a ride to work. As I stepped out of the car I was stepping on to a vast piece of lavish fabric....
In the shade, on numerous big slabs of slate, the work of angles passing by, showing off lace patterns of the heavens...

It is official; spring is on its way. - Said so in the local newspaper the other day. The miniature lights on the trees in the center of Trondheim are turned off. They will be turned back on come November. Guess that means changing to Day Light Saving Time in the not too distant future. This is my snapshot through the bus window - on my way home late one eve in December.

Monday, March 9

Brighter, lighter days ahead... The days a r e longer; I can tell because it is still daylight when I get out of work.

And the birds definitely know it; they are chirping like mad. Amazing, I thought they didn't do much chirping until the snow was gone. But, then againg, I am no ornithologist.

Morning blanket.......

Tempting to sit down, but not quite the thing you do on your way to work this time of year. This is actually a favorite bench. It sits in the shade and makes for an excellent spot for a timeout. The-sandals-off-spot, as it were.

"Paint My House" projects art on famous buildings; previously on the Berliner Dom. Next they are planning for Acropolis in Athens. Last night they "covered" Nidaros Cathedral with some 20 works of art, local and foreign artist. Spectacular! My picture(s) were taken with my phone camera - simply snapshots with no settings and no tripod. Turned out pretty artsy.

Projecting art on the West Front of Nidaros Cathedral - an Isfit Event.
Can you imagine the surprise to find this scenario on my way home from work.
Quite the art experience and in a snow storm even!
This happening took place tonight at 7 p.m.

Slush, sleet, rain and boots.
Slippery conditions... now there's an understatement :D
And I thought we were done with this for a while!
It does not have that appearance :D

Shortcuts across the cemetery was not the best option today.

Monday, February 23

After weeks on end with masses of snow: Manhole cover revealed due to heavy rain, i.e. cats and dogs and then some. I did see some pavement today and reconized it rihgt away! Except last time I did do a close inspection of this artsy cover I was also looking at my toes in sandals and 24 degrees celcius. Today's footwear: rubber boots! Water, water, everywhere..... on my way to work.
